Morell Dairy Farm opened with a bang with our inaugural open house on November 2, 2019!
Hundreds of visitors were able to get a first look at the farm, try our tasty skim, whole, and chocolate milk and butter, and purchase dairy and egg products to take home. We also served up a pretty mean gumbo and some fried catfish.
Kids and adults loved meeting the cows, petting the calves, watching Farmer Randy milk our cows, taking a tour of the processing facility where we pasteurize and bottle milk and churn butter, and gathering eggs from the henhouse to take home. The weather was a perfect partner.
We chose the date in honor of one of our family matriarch, Pearl - the party was held on what would have been her 100th birthday. Our guests were also able to meet and scratch the sweet Jersey cow named after her, #294.
Thank you so much to all the family and friends who came from near and far to help out and celebrate. We also loved meeting neighbors and new customers! We plan to hold more of these events in the future and hope you’ll help spread the word.
In the meantime, please stop by the farm during our open hours! To start, we’ll be here 1 to 6 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and 8 AM to noon on Saturdays. However, you can always give us a call in advance at 318-309-4046 to make sure we have what you want in stock. Can’t wait to see you!
